The New Zealand Asia Pacific Film Festival (NZAPFF) is dedicated to building an international platform that empowers filmmakers from across the Asia Pacific region to showcase their work to New Zealand audiences. By fostering cinematic exchange, NZAPFF strengthens cultural understanding and celebrates the rich diversity of storytelling traditions throughout the region.
Through the New Zealand Asia Pacific Film Festival (NZAPFF), we aspire to build a dynamic bridge between New Zealand and the Asia Pacific region—fostering collaboration, cultural exchange, and mutual appreciation through the art of cinema.

(NZAPFF) Awards
In accordance with the NZAPFF film awards framework, the judging panel will assign the most appropriate award titles to submitted films based on merit and artistic excellence. It is not mandatory for all award categories to be presented each year; instead, awards will be conferred only when a submission truly embodies the spirit and standards of the category.

NZAPFF Judging Panel
Film Maker David Blyth’s career started with the feature film Angel Mine in 1978, and has continued through to 2022 with a new feature film, Night Freaks, in post production.
In 2013 his film Ghost Bride, featured at the first Asia Pacific Film Festival. David has also worked extensively on war veteran documentaries, the latest one, Paradise Soldiers, played on TV One, Anzac Day, 2022.
Buting Yang is a Chinese film producer, actor and entrepreneur. He served as a successful producer for more than 20 movies which includes both English and Chinese credits. His production credits include his work on movies like Mission: Impossible III (2006), Fearless (2006), New Police Story (2004), and Together with You (2002).
He was the managing director of China Film Group.
Yang Du was a well-known Chinese film producer, she participated in and produced many blockbuster Chinese films in her 20 years filmmaking career. Her films include Da Wan, Kung fu, Kekexili, Fei chang wan mei featuring Ziyi Zhang and Bingbing Fan, Jing cha gu shi 2013, BeiJing ai qing gu shi, Gong suo Chenxiang, and Mojin, The lost Legend, My Old Classmate, Saving Mr.Wu and The Final Master. The Final Master later won a Taiwan Golden Horse Award.
George Andrews is one of New Zealand’s most influential program makers with a career that goes back to the late 1960s’. Best known for his legendary series Landmarks, he is a three times winner of the best documentary award. He has mentored generations of New Zealand directors and producers. He has a special interest in New Zealand and Pacific history and is a Life Member of the New Zealand China Friendship Society.
Ray Du, New Zealand film director, screenwriter, specialised in short filmmaking, his films received various awards in the film festival around the world. He is in charge of NOYIFF, the new brand of NZAPFF short film unit, he is also acting as the director of the NZAPFF, and he is a member of the NZAPFF organizing committee.
